Introducing the Summer Sound
Heatwave High is a 6-track collection drawn from some of my most summer - tinged songs - melodic, personal, and often reflective. Each track carries its own story, shaped by life’s moments both warm and raw. From emotional protest to playful grooves and stripped - back honesty, this EP covers a broad emotional and sonic spectrum. Here’s a deeper look at each track.
1. The Ambient View
The album opens with The Ambient View, a song originally stripped of its well - earned success by Spotify - over 1,400 streams gone with no clear explanation. As someone battling brain damage from a stroke, it felt like being kicked while down. So I reworked the song with a renewed spirit and re - recorded vocals. This version is my protest - a middle finger to those who tried to silence it.
It’s about finding stillness in the chaos, witnessing the world through a reflective lens, and letting the silence say what words can’t. A quiet, down - to - earth track to begin the journey.
2. Woman
Woman was born on guitar, but I gave it a heartbeat with drums, synth bass, and piano. It’s a simple yet powerful song - a love letter to the mysterious and the unspoken. I recorded it at a time when my memory was slipping, driven by the urgency to preserve the feeling before it faded.
The song captures the essence of an elusive figure - part dream, part truth - moving through the world like a shadow beneath the velvet sky.
3. Gimme Your Love
Fun and catchy, Gimme Your Love brings a vibrant, flirtatious energy to the mix. It’s a groove - heavy track meant to move feet and lift spirits. With playful vocals and a beat that sticks, it offers a lighter moment on the album - something you can sing along to under the summer sun.
4. Traitor
Traitor was originally written on guitar, but I reimagined it with synths and movement effects for a deeper emotional punch. Using a Jupiter - 60, Kontakt’s Super 8 for bass, and Output’s Movement and Arcade ( ‘ Nashville ’ ), the result is a haunting, spacious track about betrayal and the slow rebuilding that follows.
It’s one of those songs where the words cut deep, but the arrangement gives space to breathe through the pain.
5. Liar
Liar is all about disappointment - simple and devastating. Written from the raw edge of betrayal, it’s a short, punchy track that doesn’t over - explain. Some feelings don’t need more than a few lines to hit home. This one says it all: goodbye, for good.
6. Campfire
The closing track, Campfire, is a bright instrumental created on my beloved Jupiter - 8. There’s joy baked into every note. It was written with a smile and offers a perfect soft landing - like watching embers glow on a summer night, surrounded by peace.
Final Thoughts
This is what I do best - melodic storytelling through sound. I’m not a chart - topper or a viral sensation. I’m just someone who speaks best through music.
Heatwave High isn’t just an EP - it’s a reflection of my spirit, told in soundwaves. Thanks for listening.
